One more thing

Thanks to Mrs. Wyatt for reminding me - Please sent in a self-addressed, stamped envelope for report card to be mailed. Otherwise, you'll have to swing by the office in June and pick it up. (Some sent it in last quarter, thanks!)

Thanks!

Not sure how they'll do on the Milestones testing, but I know one thing – WE'RE TUG OF WAR CHAMPIONS!! Undefeated!!! Source of pride for the class….

They had fun and they all survived. They should be worn out, I know I need a nap.

Have a great weekend!

Kemp - Brazile

Sorry for another email, but I need to put a feeler out for some volunteers.

We need one volunteer for the Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader program. It will be held Monday, May 18. We need a parent rep from each class here by 8:45am. The program should end by 10am. You'll sit on stage and try to answer some questions against a student rep from each class. First to volunteer gets selected!

Next, we need a couple volunteers to help with Yogli Mogli on Wednesday, May 20 at 10:45am. You'll help with set up and serving for the kids to get before they watch the 5th grade video.

Thanks in advance,

Shane Brazile

FW: Last 2 weeks- No charges

From: Christina Williamson

Subject: Last 2 weeks- No charges

Good afternoon,

It's that time of year to begin collecting all the unpaid meal charges accrued throughout the school year.

As per CCSD FNS policy, there will be no charging of meals beginning Monday, May 11.

This means that, if a student does not have enough funds on his account, or in his hand to pay for lunch/breakfast, the student will be offered a replacement meal of either cheese sandwich with milk, or a peanut butter sandwich with milk, so the student will not go hungry. (Normally, a student not having money is allowed to charge up to 3 times before being offered a replacement meal. Beginning May 11, there will be no "charges" allowed in effort to collect unpaid charges.)

Please help make sure that parents are aware of this policy, and that it will go into effect on Monday, May 11. Please contact me with any questions.

Thanks!

Kemp - Brazile - Bowling

Parents –

The year is winding down quickly. The kids have been working on the last projects of the year in Social Studies and Science. We're trying to maintain academic focus while they get more and more excited. Sort of a strange segue into our bowling trip, but nevertheless, we have our bowling trip tomorrow.

We'll leave the school 9:00ish and return before dismissal. The kids will be given a snack and a pizza lunch. The snack bar should be open if they want to bring money for additional snacks. There will not be a game room open though.

The Human Growth and Development classes will be held Wednesday and Thursday. Only those students with a signed permission slip will be going to the classes. If you indicated that your child may not participate, they will remain in their homeroom class.

Friday is our Field Day. Please make sure they bring a towel, a change of clothes, and sunscreen. The kids will also have a chance to sign yearbooks during lunch on Field Day. The kids can also wear hats on that day.

The kids have their Career Projects due Monday, May 11th. Their Instructional Videos are due May 15th.

Information regarding the last day (Awards Day and the 5th Grade Walk) is supposed to be printed and sent home Wednesday.

We do not have any spelling work this week because of the odd schedule. We will have our math tests on Thursday though. In Reading, we're working on Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. We should finish that by the end of this week if all goes as scheduled.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!

Shane Brazile

Please check your child's yearbook to make sure the pages are correct. If not, please let me know as soon as possible so we can get it corrected.

Thanks,

Shane Brazile
