Class redesign

Parents –

Thank you to everyone who has given feedback on the new classroom design. The kids are. The main component of the redesign that we would need is the collaboration wall. It's the chalkboard wall. I'm pretty bad at asking for help, even worse at asking for things. This makes me incredibly uncomfortable, but I think the end goal is important. Always, feel free to say no. What the class needs is (Does anyone have this or have a connection for donation?)

·        thin plywood measuring 6' x 6' (or something close) for the chalkboard wall

·        Primer

·        Chalkboard paint (enough to cover the plywood for a couple coats ~72ft2)

·        Anyone to volunteer to prime and paint the plywood (I can do this if no one else wants this)

What the class could use (not imperative, just wants):

·        Small storage cabinet (preferably on wheels and lockable)

·        Bean bag chair

·        Suggestions/Ideas for what you think the ideal classroom should be

I've talked to the custodians about how to mount the board to the wall and I'll take care of the supplies for that.

If we get the supplies, we can prime and paint it before bringing it to school for mounting. Our custodian, William, will help me with this.

With that, I think we'll have enough to move forward. I'm going to try to rearrange some this Friday and then more next week. I think the sooner we move, the more we can capitalize on the kids' excitement.

Thanks again for your input and help.
