Parents-
Just an update:
Report cards are set to be mailed out on Friday. I'll send individual emails later if I do not have an envelope or postage. Those will be available for pick up in the front office.
The results of the Milestones testing will not be in for a few more months as they "norm" the scores of this initial test.
I heard from the Charity:Water organization about the campaign we promoted in which we raised $795. Below is the email that I was sent. Our money is going to help the people of Mali. Please let your child know that they played a part in bettering the lives of many people.
Thanks again for the opportunity to teach your child.
Please have a safe and happy summer,
Shane Brazile

 | | | update | | | | Your money was sent to Mali! | | You ran a fundraising campaign and because of your hard work, people in Mali will soon have clean water to drink. We wanted to let you know your money has been sent to the field and work is underway. | | | | | | | SO, WHY MALI AND WHAT'S NEXT? | | | | Mali is a landlocked country with vast deserts and a long dry-season, where many people lack access to clean water and sanitation. It's one of the poorest countries in the world and has both a high risk of infectious disease and one of the world's highest infant mortality rates. Thanks to your help, our local partner World Vision is busy working on 95 new and 31 rehabilitated drilled wells. In addition to drilling wells, they're building solar-powered systems that draw cool, clean water from deep underground and bring it to 78 new tap stands in the center of communities. Our partner will also be focusing on bringing clean water, sanitation and hygiene training to 10 schools. In the Winter of 2016, when the projects are complete, we'll collect GPS coordinates, photos and other details about each community to show you the impact your fundraising campaign will make in Mali. See an example of the report you'll receive when your project is ready. If you have any questions, email us at support@charitywater.org -- your friends at charity: water | | | | | | |
