Parents –
The year is winding down quickly. The kids have been working on the last projects of the year in Social Studies and Science. We're trying to maintain academic focus while they get more and more excited. Sort of a strange segue into our bowling trip, but nevertheless, we have our bowling trip tomorrow.
We'll leave the school 9:00ish and return before dismissal. The kids will be given a snack and a pizza lunch. The snack bar should be open if they want to bring money for additional snacks. There will not be a game room open though.
The Human Growth and Development classes will be held Wednesday and Thursday. Only those students with a signed permission slip will be going to the classes. If you indicated that your child may not participate, they will remain in their homeroom class.
Friday is our Field Day. Please make sure they bring a towel, a change of clothes, and sunscreen. The kids will also have a chance to sign yearbooks during lunch on Field Day. The kids can also wear hats on that day.
The kids have their Career Projects due Monday, May 11th. Their Instructional Videos are due May 15th.
Information regarding the last day (Awards Day and the 5th Grade Walk) is supposed to be printed and sent home Wednesday.
We do not have any spelling work this week because of the odd schedule. We will have our math tests on Thursday though. In Reading, we're working on Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. We should finish that by the end of this week if all goes as scheduled.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
Shane Brazile
