Parents -
We have the first day in the books! I'm exhausted, not sure if they are or not. I tried to take it somewhat easy on them today. I'll ease them into the grind.
We went over our class rules (repeatedly) and completed a math assessment, as well as a spelling inventory. For fun, we read Ish by Peter Reynolds. It's a great book about a kid who overcomes his fear of not creating something perfectly. If you're curious, there's a video of it being read online. Came in handy when my book disappeared.
The rest of our week will be full of procedures and assessments. I'll introduce our project work later in the week. If you have not heard, I run a project-based classroom. We work through projects in most areas. I'll explain thoroughly at Open House. (Open House is this Thursday at 6:30pm).
I hope to see you all there!
If you have paperwork from Meet and Greet, return as soon as possible. Please remember the "Student Information Sheet" found on our class website under the "Blog" tab. (www.BrazileEducation.com)
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Shane Brazile
