Kemp - Brazile 9/24

Parents –

A few things I need to cover (quickly, I hope).

I’ve only had one student who said they’re using the tutorials on the website for math. Please encourage your child to use these resources if they encounter any problems. The design of the class is for them to come to class ready with questions. If they’re not using the tutorials and IXL, they won’t experience any problems and we’ll see little growth in knowledge. Their math skills are listed on the website (www.shanebrazile.com) >Subjects>Math (navigate to “Subjects” then to “Math”).

We should have a new resource to add to our list soon – Study Island. I’m setting up lessons in all subject areas for the kids to use at school and home for extended lessons. I’ll get the usernames and passwords in their agendas when it’s ready to go (it will be their first initial and then last name dot “kes” with the password “study” as in ALastname.kes).

I’ve set up a conference week sign up link on the website >News (see how I set that up earlier so you know what “>News” means now?).  Feel free to start signing up now.

I’ve also set up an email archive >News. Each time I send out an email to parents, it will archive it there too. Which is great if I don’t have you set up on the distribution list. Unfortunately, if I don’t have you on there, you have no idea I’m typing this or that I’ve set it up. At least it’s a great gesture and should earn me some extra points with the techie nerd gods.

That’s all I have right now, have a great week!
